Research interests

Dr Valentina Canessa-Pollard’s scholarship explores how coaching psychology enables individual and organisational change for climate and social sustainability. She investigates eco-therapy-informed coaching—treating nature as a holding environment—and eco-somatic practices that cultivate grounding, meaning-making and agency in personal and professional contexts. Complementing these, she studies voice and chanting as accessible, embodied practices—examining their effects on regulation, connection and reflective depth—and how sound-based practices can be sensitively integrated within eco-therapy and coaching. Valentina also researches sexual violence and harassment, including online sexual harassment in schools and workplace contexts. She adopts relational, ecological and participatory approaches to prevention, bystander mobilisation and organisational response, and explores trauma-informed coaching supports for survivors.
