Dee Reed, PhD

Lecturer

Dee Reed is a lecturer at Alef Trust, and the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS). She has extensive global experience with private clients as a transpersonal coach and US National Board-Certified health and wellness coach; and as an academic writing consultant through her work as a Senior Fellow with the CIIS Center for Writing and Scholarship. Academically, she specializes in psychology, spirituality, transpersonal studies, critical thinking, scholarly writing, and research methods.

Transpersonal approaches to healing and wellness that promote psychospiritual development, as well as phenomena of presence, intersubjectivity, and countertransference, inspire her work. Research interests include interpersonal physiological synchrony as a marker of biological coregulation; mechanisms of healing; spirituality and medicine; mysticism, wisdom, and the sacred feminine.

Dee’s mission is to empower clients and colleagues and inspire the joy of wellness and lifelong learning. She collaborates with students to develop academic rigor and confidence as scholars and to foster professional competencies as practitioners. Dee holds an MLIS in Library and Information Science, an MA in Transpersonal Psychology from the former Institute of Transpersonal Psychology/Sofia University, and a PhD in Integral and Transpersonal Psychology, from CIIS.
