Paul Freinkel, MD, PhD

Paul Freinkel is a medical doctor in private practice, heading an interdisciplinary health care centre in Johannesburg, South Africa. He completed his PhD in psychology at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in Palo Alto, California, where he used Intuitive Inquiry to study the transpersonal implications of classical singing.

His research interests include transpersonal aspects of singing, transpersonal developmental models and how researchers may grow from their research. Paul is part-time faculty on the doctoral programme of the Gordon Institute of Business Studies (GIBS), University of Pretoria, where he supervises PhD and MBA research and teaches qualitative research methodology on the doctoral studies programme, as well as applied personal transformation, an elective course that examines transpersonal development as applied to leadership.

In addition, Paul is a software entrepreneur, being a co-founder of the StarTraq Group, which designs, builds, and implements workflow and document management solutions that automate the management of traffic fines in over 50% of UK police forces. He is currently a director of a very exciting social media subsidiary within the StarTraq group called Latest Sightings.

Latest Sightings, through our community and Apps, crowdsources wildlife spotting in the national parks of South Africa so that tourists and wildlife enthusiasts can enjoy more wildlife on their holidays and share the experience with peers.
