Biography

Philip Carr-Gomm, BSc, is a psychologist, author and Psychosynthesis psychotherapist who trained at UCL and with the Institute of Psychosynthesis. Since graduating 40 years ago, Philip has been in private practice and has led retreats, courses and workshops worldwide. He has also trained in Sophrology, which he integrates into his Psychosynthesis work, and is a founder of The Sophrology Institute. In recent years he has specialised in integral approaches to sleep difficulties, combining cognitive-behavioural interventions with alternative practices. His recent book ‘The Gift of the Night’ details this approach, while his earlier books have focused on wisdom traditions, particularly Druidry, Oracles and the Tarot. He has also worked for the Synthesis Institute in their training and retreat teams, and holds their Psychedelic Practitioner certificate.
