Synopsis

Shamanism is the oldest spiritual tradition known to humankind and continues to be relevant to our contemporary world. For tens of thousands of years, shamans have developed and used their technologies (knowledge, skills, methods) for shifting consciousness and accessing the spirit realms for guidance, healing and transformation. These ancient technologies can be combined with modern Transpersonal Psychology to help us better understand and facilitate the healing of modern illnesses, alienation, disempowerment, dispiritedness, disharmony, and dysfunction.

In this optional area of study, we will cover topics such as shamanic journeying, non-ordinary states of consciousness, the existence of Spirits, shamanic views of illness and healing practices, the shadow side of Shamanism, research on Shamanism, and transformational ritual practices.

There is an experiential component that consists of several Shamanic Journey Practice Webinars to learn and become competent in the practice of shamanic journeying. The intention is to offer an opportunity to engage with and embody ancient indigenous earth-based wisdom and practices and to integrate this understanding into your everyday personal and professional lives.
