Lucid Dream Studies
Our Postgraduate Certificate (PG Cert) Programme in Professional Development (Lucid Dream Studies) provides a unique opportunity to pursue academic study of the science and art of lucid dreaming completely on-line through collaborative distance learning. Drawing on scientifically grounded theories and empirical findings, as well as on historical and spiritual traditions, in this programme we examine how our dreams relate to our waking life and how they can bring inspiration and transformation to our lives. The programme specifically focuses on lucid dreaming – the phenomenon when the dreamer becomes aware during the dream that he or she is dreaming and can consciously explore the dream world from within.
We study scientific research on lucid dreaming, its phenomenology and potential applications, including transpersonal dimensions that lucid dreaming opens to. An important aspect of the programme is the experiential learning – by learning techniques and developing your ability to lucid dream via ancient (Tibetan dream yoga) and modern (scientifically verified) practices you are encouraged to explore the lucid dream state and its psychological and spiritual potentials for personal and professional development. The programme culminates with conducting an individual project on lucid dreams.
