PhD Student

Biography

Olga Ferreras is a doctoral researcher with Alef Trust and Liverpool John Moores University. She holds an MSc in Consciousness, Spirituality and Transpersonal Psychology from Liverpool John Moores University, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Coaching Psychology from Middlesex University, U.K.

Olga was born in Madrid, Spain. She has had the good fortune of living, working and studying in nine countries, four different continents, which has exposed her to the stories of women from different cultures and circumstances – their courage, generosity and challenges has fuelled Olga’s ecofeminist activism for the last twenty years, as a practical, reasonable and spiritual path to protect our humanity as we navigate rapid technological changes.

PhD research

Olga is currently researching the role of transpersonal practices on individual’s goal setting and goal exploration in a person-centered coaching context. Considering goal setting as a reflection of a person’s core values and interests, which inform their transformative journeys, her PhD study aims to gain a better understanding of how those transpersonal psychology practices which engage our creativity and expand our sense of self, may impact a coachee’s self-set, intrinsic goals.

Her PhD study aims to contribute to the development of professional frameworks and standards that underpin the coaching profession, to the research base of the academic subdiscipline of coaching psychology, and to applied transpersonal psychology.
