A partnership with CoFSA

Join Online & Accompany the Summit in Bhutan

Alef Trust is honoured to partner with the Conscious Food Systems Alliance (CoFSA) in convening regional online gatherings in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and North America, accompanying the first Global Conscious Food Systems Summit that will take place in Bhutan from 31 August to 4 September 2026.

This partnership forms part of the work of Alef Trust’s Centre for the Ecology of Human Transformation, which explores the conditions that enable life-affirming transformation to emerge, take root and flourish in our organisations and communities.

As an international organisation working in higher education and research, we are interested not only in what changes, but in the deeper conditions that make meaningful and lasting transformation possible.

The defining challenge

How do we cultivate food systems that support human and planetary flourishing?
While the Summit will take place in Bhutan, the questions it explores belong to all of us. How do we transform food systems in ways that nourish communities, regenerate ecosystems and deepen our relationship with the living world? What becomes possible when diverse cultures, experiences, and ways of knowing come into dialogue around these challenges?
Our regional online gatherings invite participants to reflect on the Summit’s themes through the realities of their own natural landscapes and communities. We will explore what is happening within our food systems and look at the deeper conditions that enable meaningful transformation where we live and work.

Why join?

Food systems are living expressions of how we relate to one another, to the Earth, and to the future we are creating.

Transforming food systems calls for more than technical innovation or policy reform. It calls for spaces of dialogue, deep listening and collective inquiry, where people can think and feel together, learn from diverse knowledges and lived experience, and cultivate the collective insights needed to navigate our complex world.

Our regional online gatherings offer an opportunity to become part of this shared inquiry.

Your perspective matters

Whether you are a farmer, policymaker, educator, researcher, practitioner, community leader, student, artist, or simply someone who cares about the future of food systems, your perspective matters.

By bringing together voices from diverse regions and contexts, we hope to make visible the questions, challenges and possibilities that might otherwise remain unseen.

Beyond the Summit

The beginning of a longer journey
For Alef Trust, these regional gatherings are both an accompaniment to the Summit and the beginning of a longer journey of inquiry.

Through the Centre for the Ecology of Human Transformation, we are exploring the conditions that enable meaningful transformation across diverse contexts and cultures. The insights emerging from these regional dialogues will contribute to that wider inquiry — informing future dialogue, research and collaborative learning after the Summit has concluded.

What emerges from the dialogues

Reflections gathered across regions become part of an ongoing, shared exploration.

Join the inquiry

Join us in this collective exploration
We warmly invite you to explore what conscious food systems can become — and what they teach us about the wider ecology of human transformation.
