
Introducing 5 New Tutors and Courses to Alef Trust
We are delighted to welcome five new tutors who will be delivering a range of brand-new courses starting in February 2020.
These courses are part of our MSc programme in Consciousness, Spirituality and Transpersonal Psychology, and you can also enrol as an Open Learner, for personal and professional development, without needing to fulfil academic requirements.
New in Applied Transformative Psychology
Dr Melody Cranbourne-Rosser (PsyD) will be teaching Transpersonal Psychotherapy and Counselling. She is an applied psychologist with an orientation towards transpersonal/ integrative theoretical approaches. Her interests include the role of presence when working with trauma, spirituality and mental health, spirituality and supervision, and practitioner development and wellbeing.
Dr Hennie Geldenhuys will offer a course in Integrative Medicine, Health and Wellness. Hennie has been extensively involved in academia in South Africa focusing on medical research. He is also in general medical practice with a focus on holistic healthcare, and he is a transpersonal coach.
New in Spiritual Psychology
Dr Regina Hess will lead a course in Collective Trauma Recovery, exploring the dimensions and transformation of individual, transgenerational and ecological trauma. Regina has her own psychotherapy practice and is international faculty at a number of institutes for transpersonal psychotherapy.
Dr David Luke will be teaching a course on Psychedelics and Entheogens, exploring the resurgence of public interest, latest research and its implications. David is Senior Lecturer in Psychology in the School of Human Sciences at the University of Greenwich, UK, and Honorary Senior Lecturer in the Centre for Psychedelic Research, Brain Sciences, at Imperial College, UK. David is also Director of the Breaking Convention Psychedelic Research and Education Foundation.
Dr Lila Moore will offer an option entitled Technology, Culture and Consciousness, exploring the benefits and hazards of a hyper-connected culture which tries to navigate the complexities of psychic space, cyberspace and virtual reality in conjunction with physical and ecological reality. Lila is a lecturer in the Department of Mysticism and Spirituality at Zefat Academic College, Israel, and was a post-doctoral researcher at the Planetary Collegium, Plymouth University, focusing on the Cybernetic Futures Institute.
MSc in Consciousness, Spirituality & Transpersonal Psychology
Our online distance-learning MSc in Consciousness, Spirituality & Transpersonal Psychology provides you an intellectually-stimulating programme of study which focuses on diverse topics around the nature of consciousness, the dynamics between psyche and soma, the psychology of self and higher states of being, and the psychological basis of spiritual and mystical practices.
Our MSc programme is distinctive in valuing experiential approaches to learning and in encouraging our students to incorporate insights from the programme into their own life journeys. In addition to a rigorous academic curriculum, modules exploring integral life practice, transpersonal approaches to research, and a research dissertation focus on the practical application of learning.
The MSc programme consists of 180-course credits and most students complete the programme over three years, studying part-time. The programme is run entirely online, and it is validated by Liverpool John Moores University in the UK.
